Bandhs are still happening though there is hope there is an end in sight. Due to the bandhs, areas of Nepal have not been open for sometime. One of those places is where a BRO (brothers respecting others) camp is being put on by group 200 that I had applied to help out and see how they run it because I am really interested in doing one for my own area. We finally received an answer that because the place is still difficult to get to, only the people that are running it will be able to attend.
Since that decision was made, I asked if I could attend the GLOW (girls leading our world) camp that my site mate is participating in. With them leaving, it would be beneficial for me to go and get to know them so they have support in sharing with their VDC as well as my own what they learned while attending the camp. I have been given permission so I am able to go the full week of camp and am looking forward to it! I will also be able to collaborate and close loose ends with my site mate since they have not been back since they left.
During one of our conversations, my site mate told me that I had changed since I first came. They described it as at first my presence was “small”, but now I am “big”. Apparently, I have more confidence. Until my site mate said something, upon reflection I realized they were right! While I was in the States, friends mentioned I was different too. In this case, it was that I had become more blood thirsty…game wise people! Who knows? Maybe in Settlers’ of Catan I will no longer be the “cuddliest god of war”!
All that being said, I don’t know what it means yet. I will need to ponder it more and will expound later. You cannot go through life without changing in some way. I just want to make sure the changes occurring in my life are good ones and not bad. The acronym from elementary school comes to my mind as thoughts swirl around. FROG - Fully Rely on God. A friend from elementary school made up a great phrase about that. “The Bible says fully rely on God - so hop to it! Here I go, Lord. Be my strength.
