I learned some things about Nepal too. Kavre, where I am going for training, is a district of Kathmandu. (Don't ask me how that works - I don't know yet. Ask me in December.) This is one of the districts that people are sent to so they can learn Nepali. I also learned of a book with CDs that can only be found in Nepal that helps you learn the language much better. I hope that I will get the chance to buy it while I am in Kathmandu before I go to Kavre!
Lamjung is a district that has a few Christians so I'll see if there is a possibility of my being placed there. However, just like when I applied to join the Peace Corps - you can state your preferences but that doesn't mean it will be the only factor to where they place you. Kathmandu has a long term facility where people live and learn how to function with their long term disability. I SO want to try and visit that, but we shall see how that works out.
I'm looking forward to my grand adventure!
