I have discovered a series by Janet Evanovich. Ironically, the main character is Stephanie Plum. I completely identify with this character. However, I would never become a bounty hunter and some of the things she does I would never do either. Most of them? If I were involved in what she was in - I can totally see myself doing the same thing. I can certainly see myself having cars blown up and finding corpses while trying to find someone/thing else instead. Yes, it is a very interesting series.
A week ago, there was a pretty big landslide near a big city I like to go to at times. With monsoon season, that city has been forbidden by PC since that road is prone to landslides. It has been raining a bit so some of us have also been informed to stay at our sites since more landslides have occurred near our area. I received this message after I had gone to the capital and had no other plans to go anywhere else for at least another couple weeks.
The day I had originally planned on going to the capital, a health post worker came by and told me I needed to go to the health post that day because it was the opening of the new one. No one had told me of course, but I went up to the ceremony. I thought that since I had been there awhile, I wouldn’t need to sit in front with the important people. I was VERY wrong…lol Aside from sitting in the sun being very hot and lots of men talking a lot - it was a good ceremony.
The next day, I went to the capital. While there, I bought some paint and brushes. There is no height chart available at my health post so I asked if I could paint one. Today I plan to go to the health post to either do it or plan the day that will work for them. I would like to eventually paint themed murals in the different rooms, but for now I am going to tackle the height chart. Balanced diet food for the nutrition room, first aid picture instructions for the first aid room, and etc. can wait until I can ensure I have more artistic talent than I actually do…
School is back in session. Now I have no “valid” excuses so it is certainly past time for me to stop living in a spirit of timidity. Those of you who are introverts understand how hard it is to go out to be with people. I have a whole new respect for y’all. You are so much more brave than I have been lately. I just need to focus on what I told a new volunteer - just take a day at a time. At the end of the day, I will make a list of all my accomplishments no matter how trivial because anything you do while living outside of your typical norm is a victory!
