Well, after this blog...haha
People have told me how it's common to take a job just to have one and continue looking. I understand the reasoning behind that, but I'm really uncomfortable with that plan. I have never taken a job that's set up to be a career with leaving in mind. Acutally, since my first non babysitting job about 15 years ago, the next position that I didn't have a connection with was when I interviewed at the hospital! Everything else I have had - I have been pretty much guaranteed the position since I knew people. There are lots of things I need to consider as I look for positions that are in a more broad spectrum than I have been before!
My first week, I went through things in my room 'cause my brother had moved in while I was away. As I went through one of my boxes, I came across a paper I had written February 26.2006 when I was in YWAM. We had been asked to write a "BHAG". "Big Hairy Audacious Goal" If we had all the resources in the world, what would we want to do? I had written "I can see myself going to places all over the world and building others up - helping them get started, fix conflict, being a connective bridge to others. Coincides with Chris' prophecy travel around for a period of time and settle in one place."
I've started connecting with friends around the area. One of them suggested instead of having a car payment, I get a car I can pay cash for and save up to pay cash on a newer one. I hadn't thought about that! Since then, I have been looking for a car. I wanted to be a little more mobile to go and figure out my life, but without having to worry about my parents' schedules. My mom and I spent a week and a half looking around and finally got one this past Friday! That being said - there are a few things after buying it that I needed to put on my own schedule.
The plan was to figure things out after I wrote my blog, but between that and registering my car - it is now the evening! Not a huge deal now since I finally heard back from a job, but it's still something I need to do. I'll begin writing out what I know I want in a job and continue tomorrow. Recent history has had me becoming really tired around 8pm if I'm at home. Some nights I fall right asleep, but about an equal amount I feel tired enough to sleep...but insomnia occurs and I can't actually fall asleep until a few hours later.
Other than that, I'm doing well. Just need to figure out a few things as time goes on! Transportation is taken care of so now I can focus on other things! :)
